Fr Stanislaus Hogan, OP visits Archbishop Mannix at Raheen on behalf of the Irish Provincial to request a parish. “Certainly!” was the reply.

The Dominican Fathers took possession of Sir John Higgins’ residence, Riversdale Road. They recited the hymn, Te Deum.

First public Mass in the Parish on the Second Sunday of Lent.

Archbishop Mannix laid and blessed the foundation stone for the Old Church/School (now Priory Hall).

Four Dominican Sisters arrived from West Maitland at the Priory. They recited the hymn, Te Deum.

Third Order of St Dominic (now known as the Dominican Laity) established at St Dominic’s.
