Special Appeal 2026
New Heating System - New Sacrament Tower

This is an exciting time for our parish. Each year for the past four years, our parish has grown. A great indicator of that growth is when you mention that you’re noticing more people at Mass. Each of you is God’s good news for Camberwell.
The exceptional regrowth of our parish over the past few years corresponds to a greater participation in ministries and membership opportunities. Not only is our parish larger, it’s also livelier. Thanks be to God for you!
The time is right, therefore, for a special appeal to you.

HEATING SYSTEM AND SACRAMENT TOWER
From Palm Sunday to Pentecost, your parish is asking you to make a substantial contribution to two important forthcoming works: a new heating system and a new sacrament tower.
Already there is great support for these works. The Prior has signalled the friars’ support for half of the Sacrament Tower cost. Other pledges have also been made, and interest by word of mouth is high.
You are invited to contribute to your parish for this appeal. Donors of $1000 and more will be forever acknowledged by name on a remembrance plaque to be installed. Donations in memory of deceased loved ones will be specially noted.
AN APPEAL IN FAITH
Please also pray for the success of the appeal. It promises to draw together many of our people from different generations and backgrounds, each with their own personal story at St Dominic’s.

“Am I living as bread broken for others? Do I share what I am and have? Am I an instrument of communion or of division?”
- Pope Leo XIV
HEATING SYSTEM
SAFER
Our beautiful church needs a safe, energy-saving, cost-effective system
which keeps us warm in winter during Masses and other liturgies.

INSTALLATION
The equipment for the new heating system is being provided to us at
cost, thanks to the generous family proprietors of Warmset Australia. Installation is set to begin after Easter 2026.
HOW IT WORKS
Heating is put between a layer of insulation and a laminate wood floor.
Radiant platform heating starts from the concept of warming people without having to heat the entire interior.

Sacrament Tower
During his recent parish visitation, Archbishop Comensoli urged us to relocate the tabernacle on the main axis
of the Church.
The Sacrament Tower is designed by Sidney Rofe. It will be made from Qld maple to match the sanctuary's existing joinery.
